Ladies Competitions Update

Unfortunately, the Presidents Prize competition scheduled for Thursday, 23rd May, had to be postponed due to the Cross Stone road being closed for the day. Last Monday the Lynn Holland and Julia White played their 4th round match in the Daily Mail 4somes at home against Moor Allerton. The game  was played in heavy rain which in the end suited the visitors who won 5 and 4,

Thursday Alison Barker and Julia White organised their ‘birthday bash’ competition. Again poor weather reduced the competition to 12 holes, but 19 ladies played the team event which was followed by afternoon tea.

This year’s Lady Captain’s competition played over 2 rounds of stableford. After a buffet meal, the Lady Captain presented the winning prize to Lynn Holland with a combined score of 70 points. Runners up were Janet Topham and Julia White.  This week was the ladies championship – format best gross medal over 2 rounds. Once again, Alison Barker held her nerve in the 2nd round to take the title with a score of 171. Gill Neely took 2nd place with 177 on a card playoff from Julia White .
