Captains Message 2019 – Keith Lacy

May I offer a warm welcome as this year’s Captain to members and visitors to the Todmorden Golf Club website.

Our club is fast approaching its 125TH year and is one of the most picturesque 9 hole golf courses in the United Kingdom with stunning views across the Lancashire and Yorkshire Moors.

Our golf course has developed from a very good course to an outstanding one due to the fantastic work from our greenkeeping staff Nigel and Steve, who maintain a very high quality of workmanship.

We have had exceptional compliments from visitors and professionals who have played here on the quality of the course and the greens.

One visitor stated that he had played a lot of the top courses in England and he had not played on better greens than ours. Another reviewer remarked that we have a gem of a course that needs to be played to be believed.

Our course is not the biggest or the longest, but with hazards and bunkers strategically placed along with tight fairways and small manicured greens you will need to be in good form to record a good score.

If you are thinking of visiting our area or are looking to join a golf club then why not pay us a visit and play a round and make your mind up afterwards

We have a variety of special offers to new members and details can be found on this website. You will find our clubhouse a warm friendly place to visit with a welcoming atmosphere from our fellow members.

Our stewards Jaine and Alan can offer visitors and guests a warm welcome and cater for your private parties, weddings or other functions as well as catering for golf societies, so if you are looking for a stunning setting for a special occasion then contact our clubhouse and let us give you a quote.

Finally, can I say to our current members I hope the season is a success and that we get as good weather as last year and ask you to support the forthcoming events and socials we will be hosting. Can I wish good luck to the Scratch, Handicap, Rabbits and Seniors teams for the men leagues and the same to our Ladies section in all their upcoming competitions.
